Some mottoes the Vicar is considering immortalizing in needlepoint for her study wall…
Stop trying to fix everything.
You’re not as important as you worry you are.
It’s about you, but it’s not about you. – Marie Fortune
God, please help me not to be such an ass. – Anne Lamott
There is Grace.
You are forgiven.
Tomorrow will be really awesome. – Laura Berger
I love them all, especially the Lamott quote.
Whatever. My 10-year-old daughter Hannah uses the word dismissively. I had gotten out of the habit of hearing it, but these days Hannah comes back from school and I ask about something and the conversation does not go her way, she says ‘Whatever’, and tunes out.
Your sampler, the context of your sampler, invites me to hear another whatever, a theological whatever. An acceptance of what is, the holy, the sacred, because it is.
Thank you for ‘Whatever’.
Thanks for this, Lance!
These are all great! Today is a “God, please help me not to be such an ass” day as we open diocesan council. Thanks!
Wow, this article is good, my sister is analyzing such things, therefore I am going to
convey her.
Lovely
